Databricks Engineer

We are Duos Asinos, a growing company founded and based in Belgrade. Our partner is a North American, innovative, worldwide renowned front-runner in its industry, with a large user base.

Our team is expanding, and we are looking for a Databricks Engineer to join our dynamic environment. In this role, you’ll be responsible for managing and optimizing the infrastructure that serves an impressive 40 million users weekly. You’ll work on improving and maintaining data engineering pipelines, integrating machine learning models into production environments, and collaborating closely with data scientists to ensure the seamless flow of data across systems. Your expertise in Databricks, data architecture, and big data technologies will be essential to achieving our business goals.

What We’re Looking For:

  • 5+ years of experience in Python programming.
  • Expertise in working with Databricks notebooks, clusters, and workflows.
  • Proficiency in popular Python libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, PySpark).
  • Strong experience with SQL and understanding of data structures, software design patterns, and OOP.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • In-depth knowledge of big data technologies, distributed computing, data lakes, and ETL processes.
  • Experience working with US clients and a solid understanding of IT compliance and security standards.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with data warehousing solutions (e.g., Redshift, Snowflake, BigQuery).
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices (CI/CD, MLOps).
  • Experience in building and deploying machine learning models at scale.
  • Knowledge of REST APIs and their integration into data pipelines.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and the ability to independently handle complex, long-term projects.
  • A passion for continuous learning and staying updated with industry trends and emerging technologies.
  • A creative approach to tackling challenges and optimizing systems.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in Databricks, Python, and SQL.
  • Proven expertise in designing, scaling, and optimizing data infrastructure and pipelines.
